Obituary of Lucille Doyle

Lucille Doyle was born in Auchtembeddie, Jamaica, on Nov 3, 1934 and passed away at age 85 in her sleep on Sunday, April 5, 2020 in Toronto, Canada. She was one of the 9 children of James and Matilda Doyle and had 3 children of her own. She is survived by 2 remaining siblings, Enid and Clesa Doyle, her 3 children, Cosmin (aka Lorna), Delroy and Marcia and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and their children. Lucille worked as a conductress for the Jamaican Omnibus Service for many years and during that time helped her family, friends and strangers whenever she could. She was a giving person. She also took a milliner’s course and could make caps with her sewing machine. In 1990 Lucille came to Canada on a work permit and got her permanent residence after 3 yrs. She upgraded her education and also did a personal support worker (PSW) course. She worked different jobs in Canada until she retired. In the last few years she had dementia on top of ongoing health issues with diabetes and heart problems. The dementia got worse, but she still remembered her name and recognized her daughter Marcia, nephew Raymond and Trevor, sister Enid and granddaughter Trudy whenever we visited her. Remembering the grand kids was harder. Sometimes she mixed the names up. My mother, Lucille Doyle, was hardworking, loved to sing, loved to go to church, cared about her family, loved to help people and will be missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. Rest in peace, mom!
