Chateram Ramkumar, 74, died peacefully on January 23, 2021.
Chateram is survived by his loving wife Sosela of 50 years, son Rob (Marcia), and daughters Chandra, Savita (late Alim) and loving grandchildren Alana, Evangeline, Shazam, Shaheed and Caileigh along with his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and extended family. Chateram was adored as a father, husband, grandfather, brother and friend to everyone.
His desire to take care of his family led to him to relocate from Georgetown, Guyana to Canada in 1985. After settling here and working many years in the family business, he and Sosela took a big risk with opening their own store which they continued to run for 11 years before retiring. Retirement opened a new and the best chapter of his life, as it now allowed him to spend quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren who were surrounded by his love, jokes and laughter each and every day. His calm and easy going personality brought joy to those around him and he will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
