My deepest sympathies to the family on the passing of this esteemed humanitarian. i remember most vividly how he responded after I presented the concept of the Sathya Sai Schools Walk for Values to the devotees of York Centre in 2003. During my talk I mentioned that the purpose of the Walk was not to raise money but to promote the practice of the 5 universal human values Truth, Right Conduct, Peace, Love and Non-violence for the blossoming of good character considered essential by our revered Founder of the School, Sri Sathya Sai Baba. I mentioned during my talk on how appropriate it would be to show our unity of purpose if all participants wore the same T- shirts. At the end of my presentation, he introduced himself and said his T-shirt manufacturing company will sponsor all the T-shirts free of charge and asked me how many we needed. I said about 3, 000. He said no problem and called one of his sons to take care of it. I was most touched by his great charity and was speechless momentarily. Needless to say much of the success of the Walk in its first year and many years thereafter throughout Canada was due to his generosity. All participants across the country were beneficiaries of his and his dear familys great kindness. On behalf of the students, staff, Principal and Trustees of the Sathya Sai School , I offer our deepest sympathies and gratitude . Sincerely , T.R. Pillay, Founding Principal, Sathya Sai School of Toronto, Canada 2000-2006
