I am so shocked and deeply sorry to hear of Derek’s passing. My family lives in Ittawa and we would make monthly visits to our aging parents (Rev and Mrs. Muttoo) in Mississauga, visiting Charlie’s every time. Derek watched as my parents aged and could no longer maneuver the store visits and they would stay in the car while I ran in to shop for them. He regularly came out to greet them and I could see how happy it made them. Dad passed in Jan 2020 and Derek sent a note to the all the employees and was sympathetic when he saw Mom next. Mom passed in May of this year and I don’t think he knew because he wasn’t there when I went. Derek was kind and respectful and his loss is surely felt - at Charlie’s and in thee world.
