Our deepest sympathies to the Balgobin family. Sally was truly one of a kind. Working with Sally at Brandes, she was always excited to share here cooking skills, especially her infamous moussaka, tea sandwiches and more, and we benefited getting to enjoy them. I recall her infamous phrase said with excitement and a big smile, "Nancy, can you staannnd it" whenever she returned from the Bay with a great deal or something good happened. My kids, now young adults were also shocked and saddened having remembered Sally's kindness, bringing them to Starbucks for a treat or making sure they had some fun activities to keep them occupied during some of their office visits. Sal, your passing was too soon, some comfort lies that you are no longer in pain, rest in peace, Nancy, Isabella & Christian

To Sally's family and friends, we send our deepest sympathies. We share your sadness and loss. Sally had a big heart and a kind soul. We have many fond memories of Sally during her time at Brandes. She always made our guests feel welcome and went out of her way when we had special guests. Our son, Michael, who is now 23 remembers Sally always having a treat for him when he came to the office. When Oliver's mother and aunts visited, Sally made them feel so special. Oliver's Mom always asked about Sally and Sally always asked about her. Oliver's Mom gave Sally Rosary Beads when she was battling cancer and we know that Sally treasured them. We will miss Sally but will treasure the memories and the fun times we enjoyed together. My darling Sal today as we said goodbye to you, i want you to know what a was a privilege to spend your last months with you. Every visit when you could you would tell me I am so happy to see you and that you loved me. Sal you are the bravest person I know even in pain you wanted me to make sure I told your nurse thank you when they did something for you I tried to make you. laugh I am honoured to be with you your last hours and at the time of your passing holding your hand. Love you forever my beloved Sal. I will miss you terribly. Rest well my love.

We lost Sally after a long, valiant struggle with illness. She battled so hard and we lost her too soon. We loved her very much.
She was born and brought up in Herstelling, East Bank Demerara, Guyana, with her parents Budso and Joan, siblings Susan, Terry, Ann and Annette.
When Sally was in her mid teens, our family emigrated to Red Deer, Alberta. A few years later, she relocated to Toronto where she remained until her death.
Sally was a valued and much loved employee of Brandes Investment Partners for 14 years. She was proud of the role she played with Brandes.
Sally had many “loved ones,” as she called her friends. She loved food, she loved to entertain and she was a fabulous cook.
Susan and I had the privilege of spending almost every day with Sally, holding her hand and talking to her while she was in ICU. We know she felt our love. When we couldn’t be there, we were supported by Evelyn Salam and Sherry Mangal. We can’t thank you both enough.
A special thank you to the ICU team at Scarborough General Hospital.
I love you, Sally. I will miss you dearly.

Michael and I saw how you walked with Sally during this long, final illness. She definitely felt your presence and most of all, your love.
