Obituary of Yogi Bharratt

Bharratt, Yogi 1 August - 19 October, 2018. It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Yogi Bharratt, who died peacefully in his sleep with his family at his bedside, at St. Michael's Hospital, aged 74. He will be warmly remembered by his wife, Betty Bharratt of 47 years. Cherished father of Natasha and Aneal, father-in-law to Gibran and Christine and grandfather to Azurra, Alaya,Yeshaan and Aasha. Born in Kitty, Georgetown Guyana and predeceased by his parents Umrowh and Dhanrajea and older brother Durga Charran, Yogi is survived by 4 siblings, Amarnath, Devi, Haemnath and Andra who reside across North America and England. In 1969, Yogi moved to England and graduated years later from South west London college with a degree in Accounting. He married Betty in 1971 and moved to Canada in 1977. He worked in several different accounting positions within the government ending his career at an international company where he travelled extensively as part of his role. He was loved and respected by his inlaws, nieces and nephews and will be fondly missed by family and friends near and far. He will be remembered as a private and quiet man, who was intelligent with a dry sense of humour.
