Words fail to express my feelings as I wander in the remembrance of my sweet childhood schooltime buddy, Maniya – whose presence illuminated our lives with boundless delight and blissful enduring memories.
This extraordinary confidant, a kindred spirit of yore, graced my growing years with a kaleidoscope of exuberant adventures and profound discoveries / explorations that forever etch themselves upon my being.
Almost every day till the close of schooling times, we were together on our bicycles pedalling around our lovely picturesque Haridwar .. We embarked on whimsical escapades through the enchanted forests of the Shivalik foothills, surrendering to the allure of nature's hidden enclaves and unravelling its enigmatic wonders. Side by side, we traversed uncharted avenues, leaving indelible tyre tracks upon the landscapes of our shared escapades, as if to inscribe the tale of our unwavering friendship upon the very fabric of time.
Together, we embarked on intrepid random treks and scaled unexplored routes with unwavering resolve in the mountainous landscape of Rajaji Reserved Forest which was literally our next-door neighbourhood. Each arduous walk was a symphony of resilience, interwoven with the cadence of laughter and the whispers of the forest winds. We used to spend hours together at the Machaan talking around myriad subjects and quite often sat quietly admiring the beautiful sceneries around. Amongst the verdant foliage of the jungle, this cherished friend kindled a sacred kinship, where murmurs of ancient trees and harmonies of elusive fauna painted a tapestry of unparalleled solace and unyielding wonder.
As we bid farewell to our dear childhood amigo, we bear the weight of profound loss, but also the sacred gratitude for the blessed times we forged together. The cherished recollections we enshrined will forever be a testament to the wonderful camaraderie we shared, and the reverberations of joy we coaxed from the varied colours of life.
Rest peacefully, my sweet loving Maniya, knowing that your ethereal essence will forever dance upon the stage of our hearts, igniting the flickering flame of cherished memories that endure eternally.

Manish was a great son, husband, father, friend, Ironman- a beacon of kindness and strength. He was always there for us and we never felt as if we were away from family. He was family. He enjoyed celebrating all festivals and he could connect with everyone no matter their age making it feel like we had known him forever. He was warm and welcoming with friends, family alike and a gracious host.
Manish uncle was a great sportsman who inspired us. We’ll always remember his kind and encouraging words.

Manish was not just a friend; he was a beacon of light, a source of strength, and a wellspring of love. Nandini, my wife; Urbee, my daughter; and I had the privilege of getting to know Manish during the days he and I were undergoing our MBA journey together. It was there that our lives intertwined, and we discovered a person who was unlike anyone we had ever met. Manish walked on a different plane, a path illuminated by kindness, compassion, and an unwavering connection to the Eternal Soul.
In a world that often feels chaotic and uncertain, Manish possessed a quiet strength that never wavered. He had an extraordinary ability to remain calm amidst the storms of life, offering solace and support to those around him. His presence alone was a source of comfort, as he exuded a sense of peace that seemed to radiate from deep within his very being.
Manish's heart was truly something to behold. It overflowed with love, extending boundless warmth to all who crossed his path. Whether it was a listening ear, a helping hand, or a word of encouragement, he gave of himself generously and selflessly. His capacity for empathy knew no bounds, and he had a rare gift of truly understanding the struggles and joys of others.

We studied together in NDRI, Karnal for 04 years. Manish was such a cool & intelligent person, always with a smiling face. All the moments we lived together in college will be a part of our sweet memories. His heroic efforts in triathlons & Ironman competitions have always inspired us all. He was highly social & made in a point to meet as many batch mates as possible during his visits to India. An early departure of such a lovely soul is really painful.

Manish Sharma! The years below your name ( 1967- 2023) though numerically correct just don’t ring true!
They just look so blurred as they can’t fathom the fullness of life you carved in during your short time in Earth.
From the peaks of mountains to the depths of Hindu Scriptures & texts you explored it all! Very few can establish that fine Cosmic tuning in body & mind which has the power to facilitate the smooth extension of human boundaries.
A yogi in body, mind & spirit!
Your ironic sense of humour and your blunt microscopic observations was not an easy meal to digest like your favourite Dosa, yet you knew how to add spice, chutney & serve the palate! Most of your friends who had a taste of it, knew this rare flavoured recipe you served with your unforgettable smile!
You were a great friend to many, ready to help anyone who seeked, a philosopher in many ways and a guide when fetched.
You will continue to inspire and motivate us all in Class of 84 & our future generations. We can never forget the way you got many of us together from our batch and you along with your family arranged the reunion in Canada in 2016.
Learnt a lot from your active and down to earth lifestyle. Your sense of freedom from worldly attachments and yet the compassionate attachment & commitment to your friends & family is a fine blend very few have.

Our deepest condolences to the entire family. Manish will be dearly missed. He was always a man of few words but the words that did come from him were filled with kindness, insight and humour. Manish was great with remembering everyones special days and sending birthday/Diwali/Christmas cards and gifts. Often left at the front door without even letting someone know that he had dropped by. We are deeply saddened by this tremendous loss. Our deepest condolences to Shaffu, the children, and to the rest of the family. Manish is fondly remembered as a kind and gentle soul. Manish, you were a great inspiration to us all. From simple outdoor activities to long-distance running, you led by example on what it means to be free-spirited and perseverant.

Whenever my dad left to travel, no matter what time of the day it was, he would come and say goodbye to me. This was often late in the night; he would always whisper bye, hug me, and let me know when he would be back. During these past two years, I would whisper to him to wake him up while he was sleeping. We would have a whisper conversation until he woke up, even though there was no need to keep our voices down.
Dad, your memory, sense of adventure, and love for dosa cannot be beat. I will miss the unconventional things you used to do and say.
