My sincere belated condolences.
Happened to stumble upon this memoir of Ramiah Uncle.
Remember admiring him and wanting to be like him. He was probably the first among us Mittaguntas to study abroad and settle in Canada. A very gentle, unassuming person.
Clearly remember attending his wedding. ..Was in George Town, Madras if I remember correctly. We used to live in Gopalapuram those days.

I remember Uncle Ramiah with great fondness. We worked together on the Winnipeg Sai Center calander for some time. I will always remember his gentle spirit, his kindness and his beautiful smile. You were very special to my mum and dad, Uncle. I wish you much joy and wonder as you embark on this next part of your journey.

Dear Ramiah Family and my dearest Friend Roopa,
We are sorry to hear of the sad news of the passing of your father. We were saddened by the news but happy to know that he has lived a wonderful life and he was surrounded by many family members who loved him dearly. He was very lucky to have all of you in his life as you were lucky to have him with you for so long. He will always be within your heart. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Today and always, may loving memories bring you peace, comfort, and strength.
I have fond memeories in Uncle. His good spirit, jolly nature and his great sense of humour will never be forgotten. I have two pictures which probably are some of the most significant moments I have had with him. There is a picture of him singing at my wedding. He had such a beautiful voice till this day one of the best signers I know. Another picture is when we went to Jasper together. It was an impromptu travel plan the daughters insisted on, that ended up being a fun time for everyone.
We wish we could be there for you during this difficult time. You are in our thoughts.

Our two families have been friends for the last fifty and odd years.
Its source was more than sixty and odd years ago.

Dearest Kanaka auntie, Sriram, and Roopa
Please accept our condolences on the passing of Ramiah uncle.
We remember uncle as always smiling, a kind-hearted and generous uncle, who was soft spoken with always a positive or re-assuring word to offer.
As time passes, and we grow older, we all tend to go our own ways and forge our own lives - but memories of special uncles in our lives and family, are never lost and never forgotten.
Ramiah uncle was most certainly one of those uncles, who has left a positive and ever-lasting impression on our family.

Ramiah uncle was known to my family before I was born. My father and he had studied at St.John's High School in Nagpur, although uncle was in the senior class ahead by 2 years. Ramiah uncle was also known to my uncle Dorai through uncle's younger brother Kothandaraman who was classmates with him in Delhi. Dr. Ramiah's studies and research in Canada were an inspiration to me when I was a science student. His change of career path also demonstrated to me that anything is possible with one's career path and that it is necessary to adapt to the needs of the working world. We cherished celebrating Ram Navami at his home for several years and fondly remember celebrating his 80th birthday in grand style. May he rest in peace knowing that he is remembered.

Dr. Ramayya was an extremely gentle person wth a surprisingly witty way of speaking. Venkat and I have many warm memories of his funny stories as well as his sweet singing voice, his love for the music of Thyagaraja and his great devotion to our Guru, Sri Satya Sai.
