Obituary of Antonio Aranha
Please share a memory of Antonio to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness, we announce the loss of our beloved husband, father, brother and uncle, Antonio (Tony) Aranha, who passed away peacefully at the age of 77, on the morning of Thursday June 8th, 2023.
Antonio was born in Lisbon, Portugal to Victor Aranha and Maria da Costa, on December 5th, 1945. He spent his early years in Fanhoes, of which he spoke so fond of, and where his love for soccer, and his team Benfica started. Antonio loved to learn, read, travel, explore, camp, swim and had such great passion for good food. He was a ‘jack-of-all-trades” who enjoyed fixing anything.
He worked for many years in Romar and Movicargo where he made life lasting friendships. He eventually moved to Toronto, Canada to provide new opportunities for his family but spoke daily of how much he missed and adored his homeland. Antonio was always so proud to be a true ‘alfacinha’.
He will be profoundly missed by his beloved wife of 49 years, Marta, his daughter Ana (Jay), his son Victor (Gabriela), and his sister Cristina (Manuel) nieces Sofia, Stephanie and nephew, Mario.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday June 14th, between 12-1pm at Lotus Funeral & Cremation Centre. To honour Antonio, please “pay it forward” with an act of kindness.
