Obituary of Rajkallie Somwaru

In the quiet hush of the afternoon, precisely at 2:22pm on July 10th, 2023, the world bid a tender farewell to Rajkallie "Drow" Somwaru. A woman of boundless love and childlike joy, Drow's spirit was a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew her. Born amidst the vibrant culture and lush landscapes of Berbice, Guyana, on May 12, 1957, Drow's journey of 66 years was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of love, laughter, and family.

From the heart of Guyana, Drow's path led her to the dynamic city of Toronto, Ontario. It was here that she built a life filled with love and laughter, raising her cherished children independently, Jaime and Jennifer Lopez. Her life was a testament to the enduring power of love, a love that was once shared with Jaime Lopez of Bronx, New York, the father of her children.

As one of ten siblings, Drow understood the profound bond of family. She was a beloved sister, a devoted mother to Jaime and Jennifer, and a doting grandmother to her four grandchildren. Her love for her family was as deep as the ocean and as constant as the northern star.

Drow navigated life with a spirit as light as a butterfly and as playful as a child. She bore no grudges, harbored no malice, and viewed the world with an innocence and wonder that was truly inspiring. Her laughter was a symphony that will continue to play in our hearts, her smile a cherished memory that will forever light our way.

In her final months, Drow was enveloped in the love of her family, a testament to the love she had given so freely throughout her life. We invite all who knew and loved Drow to join us in celebrating her life. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 13th, 2023, from 6pm to 9pm at the Lotus Funeral Home, 121 Cityview Drive, Toronto, Ontario. The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 14th, 2023.
