Obituary of Hansa Gope Sajnani
Please share a memory of Hansa to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Hansa Sajnani, born 1961, to Sheela and the late Ramchandra Prasad in Mumbai, was a
cherished presence in the lives of those who knew her. She grew up with two loving
siblings, her older sister Lena Devnani and younger brother Deepak Prasad. Hansa and
Lena were inseparable while Deepak was like a younger son to both sisters.
In December of 1990, Hansa embarked on a beautiful chapter of her life when she
married her soulmate, Gope Sajnani. Together, they experienced the countless joys that
life had to offer, and their love blossomed with the arrival of two wonderful children,
Samar and Abha Sajnani. Hansa loved her sister-in-law, Sarla Sajnani, as her own sister
and Sarla became an integral part of the family helping raise the children as her own.
In 2002, the Sajnani family embarked on a new adventure, migrating from India to
Canada. Adjusting to life in a new country was a testament to Hansa’s strength and
determination. Hansa’s unwavering positivity and love for life illuminated their path,
enabling them to build a loving home and forge lasting friendships. These qualities were
fostered at a young age and a representation of her mother, Sheela.
Hansa’s remarkable spirit, infections laughter and smile were a source of inspiration to
all who knew her. She radiated love and warmth, touching the hearts of everyone she
met. Hansa cherished the simple things in life. She loved plants and animals and she
cared for them as if they were part of her family. Her love for nature was exemplified by
her adventurous hikes and travels.
Her coworkers, friends and family near and far were able to express their love for her.
On September 1 st 2023, Hansa passed peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. We are
left with a profound desire to emulate Hansa’s remarkable spirit and the essence of who
she was as a person. It is our intention to honor her memory by embodying the qualities
and love she shared with us in all that we do.
