Obituary of Kailash Chander Awasthy

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Kailash Chander Awasthy, age 75, on Sunday January 7 th
2024 at Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga. After a year long battle with cancer, he was surrounded by
the love of his family in his final days. Dedicated husband of 47 years to Maria (Maya) Awasthy, a father
to Monica Awasthy (Barnaby) and Christine Awasthy (Derek). Grandfather to three wonderful
grandchildren, Mikaela McPhadden, and Sebastian and Remy Dixson. His courage and humour will be
missed by all who knew him.

Kailash was born in New Delhi, India in 1948. He graduated from Deshbandu College in 1969, and in
1970 he immigrated to Canada. Here, he established and operated several family businesses, including
Reflections 79’ and MITC. Since 1989 and until his retirement, he was a licenced real estate agent.

Funeral service in the memory of Kailash Chander Awasthy will be held on Thursday January 11 th 2024 at
3:00pm at Lotus Funeral and Cremation Centre, 121 City View Drive Toronto, Ontario.
Those who desire may make donations to the Canadian Cancer Foundation on his behalf. He took a lot
of pride in his orchids if you choose to send flowers.
