Kiem had such a kind, warm, happy energy that was so heartwarming and uplifting to be around. I loved the way his face lit up when he smiled! He always made me feel so welcomed anytime he would enthusiastically host our family at his place and I will fondly remember the chaotically fun family ping pong matches and delicious meals he so generously helped prepare. His unique joyful laugh was particularly infectious and I love that I can hear that same distinct laugh in his kids!
The fact that he was practical, hardworking and took his life pursuits seriously, yet also allowed himself to be silly, enjoy the good people and simple pleasures around him, not sweat the small stuff, and be a good sport is an admirable way of life we can all aspire to.
He lives on in our hearts and through the values, love, wisdom, strength, memories and stories he has passed to his loved ones.
