In loving memory of Hanassia Singh, affectionately known as Sugie, we celebrate a life rich with love, warmth, and cherished moments. Hanassia was born in Georgetown, Guyana, in the city of Sophia, also known as Belair, and she was the second oldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leal and Mohini Ramnarine.Growing up in a family of nine siblings, Hanassia's journey was marked by resilience and hard work. She attended Belair Government School and contributed tirelessly to her family's farm. On April 27, 1954, she married her husband Daul Singh in Hindu rites, and together they built a home at 14 Delhi St, Prashad Nagar, where they raised their four children.Hanassia's dedication to her family was evident in her roles as a seamstress and provider. She instilled valuable life lessons in her children and orked diligently to ensure their education and well-being. Her journey extended to New York, where she briefly lived and worked at Young World, a clothing store, and as a dedicated babysitter.Migrating to Canada, she continued to enrich the lives of those around her. She joined families through marriages, creating bonds that strengthened the fabric of love and support. Hanassia worked as a babysitter and mail sorter in Canada, leaving a lasting impact on her community. Her legacy lives on through her four children: Raymond, Kimraj, Shoba, and Geeta; her seven grandchildren - Sharmilla, Sean, Mike, Kevin, Hema, Michelle, and Kris - along with their families; and her three great-grandchildren - Saagar, Santosh, and Nathan - whom she adored and babysat with love.Hanassia's nurturing ways extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of all who knew her. As we bid farewell, we express gratitude for Hanassia's unwavering love and the countless memories she created. May her soul find peace in the comforting embrace of the divine, and may her love continue to inspire and guide us.
