Obituary of Vikrama Jit Handa

Shree Vikrama Jit Handa, our beloved Papaji, a resident of Brampton, Ontario passed away peacefully alongside his loved ones at Hawthorne Woods Care nursing home on Saturday October 12, 2019 at the age of ninety three. Born in Peshawar, son of late Smt. Veera Handa and Shree Amarnath Handa, and beloved husband of Smt. Dev Lakshmi Handa. He was a loving father to daughters, Indu Bhatia (son in law Surinder Bhatia) and Poonam Sood (son in law Sunil Sood) and sons, Rajesh Handa (daughter in law Shashi Handa) and Niraj Handa (daughter in law Anju Handa). An extremely loving and caring grand father to Rachna Chopra, Vishal Bhatia, Deepak Handa, Pooja Bhardwaj, Rishi Handa, Arshi Handa and Shivali Sood. An inspiring great grand father to Reeti and Alok Chopra, Varin Bhatia and Veda Handa. A nurturing brother to Shakuntala Chopra, Swaraj Takyar, Swaran Jit Handa and Krishan Kumar Handa. Kind uncle to Sudha, Sudhir, late Sushma, Suman, Seema, Sunil, Vicky, Sanjay, Mini and Mona. Papaji was a very saintly and caring person who always thought of others before himself. He was very hard working, honest, and disciplined through out his life. His love for shairi and old songs was very contagious. His sense of humour kept us smiling constantly. Papaji left an impression on everyone he met all his life and the void he has left will never be filled. Papaji will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. May his soul rest in peace.
