Obituary of Dara Singh Varaich

Born on April 18, 1949 in the Village of Saidhowal in the District of Kapurthala, Punjab, India. Passed at the age of 70 on February 1, 2020 in hospital care. Dara emigrated to Canada in 1970, where he landed in Halifax, moved to Winnipeg, and then settled in Toronto. He did a number of odd jobs before attending Ryerson University, began his successful career in real estate, and soon opened his own brokerage. His love of travel lead to his many adventures all over the world - he visited many places and had plans to visit so many more. A man of class and integrity, with a love of good food (don't forget the Sriracha), luxury cars, and a handsome suit and tie combo. He enjoyed ghazals (old Hindi songs), watching WWE wrestling (while ridiculing it, of course), and his Grand Marnier. Loving son to (late) Banta Singh and Mohinder Kaur. Dear brother to (late) Swaran Kaur, Gurmej Kaur, (late) Naranjan Kaur, Karam Kaur, Sulinder Kaur, Darshan Kaur, Ajit Singh, and Amarjit Kaur. Devoted husband to Kolwant Kaur. Most beloved father to Sandev Singh (with his wife, Serena Kumari) and Manpreet Kaur. Adored grandfather to London Luxmi and Mia Kaur. Admired brother-in-law to many. Cherished uncle and father figure to many nieces and nephews. He is deeply missed.
